Abstract: Working time or working hours represents an impact subcategory of the stakeholder Worker category. The evaluation of the “working time” impact subcategory allows, through one or more indicators, the relevant social and socio-economic impacts of the product life cycle associated with the reference category to be identified. The main challenges in this sector have always been linked to the need to reduce excessive working hours and protect workers’ health and safety through weekly rest, paid holidays, and the limitation of working hours based on the provisions of international labour standards. Several factors have introduced new trends and developments in working hours in recent years. Implementing new methods of flexible work organisation, the increase in the number of women in the labour market, and the concern for work–life balance have shaped workers’ needs and working time preferences, which vary by gender and over the life cycle.
