Abstract: Fair salary is a key aspect of Social Life Cycle Assessment (S-LCA), particularly within the Workers stakeholder category and the Decent Work framework. It is assessed through wage benchmarks such as minimum wage, prevailing industry wage, and living wage, with the latter ensuring workers can meet essential needs. Several international initiatives, including those by the World Economic Forum (WEF) and Fair Wear Foundation (FWF), emphasize fair wages as a tool to reduce inequality and improve working conditions. Methodological advancements in S-LCA include the fair wage potential (FWP), living wage gap (LWG), and Living Labor Compensation indicators, incorporating input-output modeling to enhance wage assessments. Despite progress, challenges remain in data availability and consistency. Future research should focus on improving wage transparency, expanding wage benchmarks, and integrating S-LCA with economic and environmental assessments to strengthen social sustainability evaluations.
