Chapter 6.2 in Elgar Encyclopedia of Strategy as Practice, 2025, pp 676-679 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
This entry focuses on publication outlets that supported, and thus made possible, the ascent of Strategy-as-Practice (SAP) as a field of research. Ultimately, reputation and esteem of publication outlets bestow a field's legitimacy and legacy. Outlets are a pillar for scholarship, creating a symbiotic relation with a thriving community of scholars. As a distinct area of scholarship, SAP was institutionalized through successive special issues, reviews of burgeoning research and handbooks. This entry points to a pattern in publication outlets fostering the ascent and growth of SAP scholarship. It introduces most prominent journals publishing SAP work and concludes by paving a trajectory for outlets supporting SAP scholarship.
