Chapter 28 in Handbook of Teaching and Learning in Social Innovation, 2026, pp 416-421 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
Promoting social innovation and social progress calls for the involvement of higher education institutions. Universities, in particular, are required to push the agenda. This chapter focuses on the project impACTup!, which aims to foster impact-oriented thinking and entrepreneurial skills through its interdisciplinary and holistic approach. The project is a four-stage qualification program for students and researchers from all academic backgrounds. By imparting the key competences knowledge and intentionality, the program fosters social innovation and a mindset for impact-oriented entrepreneurship proficiency. This chapter offers a description of the project, as well as implications and barriers to its anchoring.
