Abstract: This chapter focuses on the financialisation of public policies, whereby policies are increasingly reconfigured to enable private investors to finance them. It focuses in particular on the transformation of political language and framing that has taken place in global arenas. Three cases are addressed: development policies, whose financialisation has been driven mainly by public development institutions; climate policies, whose scope has been heavily influenced by capitalist actors and private finance; and finally, the craze for impact finance, which allows a multitude of localised actors to work hard to create new financialised funding channels.
