Abstract: Ethnographic research uses in-depth in-situ investigations to produce detailed analytical descriptions of social and cultural relationships, events, interactions and their meaning. Meta-ethnographies examine these products by exploring the descriptions of the research process and main results of the research from individual studies on similar issues and how they may relate to each other. This chapter attempts to illustrate how meta-ethnography works and what kinds of results it can generate. Its specific focus is on Nordic ethnographic research on education justice and inequality.
