ANTi-Microhistory

Nicholous M. Deal

Chapter 9 in Elgar Encyclopedia of Historical Organisation Studies, 2026, pp 35-39 from Edward Elgar Publishing

Abstract: ANTi-Microhistory is a methodological approach in historical organization studies that brings into dialogue ANTi-History with microhistory practice. It emphasizes small-scale, fine-grained analysis of individuals and overlooked events to uncover how organizational pasts are constructed, contested and remembered. This entry provides an entry point to distill it as a methodology and explore the several ways it has been applied in empirical research to date.
