Abstract: What constitutes space seems to be taken for granted or treated as common sense in historical organization studies. We draw attention to the lens of spatial history, enabling organizational scholars to unpack ‘multiplicity’ of organizational spaces that span beyond location and distance. By using this lens, organizational scholars can move towards a pluralistic perspective on space, where organizational space is not seen as being bounded only by ‘geography’ but also as being historically situated.
