Decoloniality

Abstract: Decoloniality, crafted by Walter Mignolo, seeks to make visible distinct perspectives that displace Western knowledge rationality. Coloniality crafted by Aníbal Quijano designates the domination beyond colonialism. Modernity, coloniality and decoloniality (MCD) form an inseparable triad in the struggle to make visible voices and knowledges of those on whom Western modernity has been imposed. The MCD lexicon also includes concepts such as ego conqiro, border thinking and colonial and imperial differences, denial of coevalness, hubris of zero point and geopolitics of knowledge. They should be read together in order to capture the full meaning of practicing decoloniality from a Latin American perspective.
