Abstract:
This chapter examines four policy issues related to the sports industry. They are: (i) the application of antitrust laws to professional sports; (ii) the question of whether public financing of sports facilities is socially desirable; (iii) gambling and sports; and (iv) racial and gender discrimination in sports.
