Cultural clubs – religion and Great Transformation
Annie Tubadji ()
Chapter 9 in Culture Based Development, 2025, pp 186-205 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
This chapter deals with the indirect effect of cultural bias due to the economically endogenous dissolving of the altruistic contract curve. Once relative deprivation among peers in a club appears, it directly transforms a person into an outsider within their old club. Indirectly, this can switch the developmental regime of the entire system from a flourishing spiral of cooperative learning into a perpetual conflict, demise, and a Great Transformation state with unclear aggregate outcomes in the future.
