This chapter examines contemporary issues in banking, the factors driving the changes in the global banking industry, and the opportunities and threats they present to banks. Additionally, the study proposes strategies for navigating contemporary banking issues to help banks avoid pitfalls, take advantage of emerging opportunities, and optimize the industry's potential. By delving into the core of the recent developments in banking, this chapter enriches banks’ understanding of the complex nexus between the opportunities and threats posed by a changing world. The chapter offers a roadmap for navigating these complexities, and this is expected to improve banks’ overall performance and enhance customers’ experience over time.
