Abstract:
This chapter comments on Article 71 of the Anti-Money Laundering Regulation (EU) 2024/1624, which obliges obliged entities to refrain from executing transactions suspected of money laundering or terrorist financing until an STR is filed and a response received from the FIU. It details exceptions for urgent or legally mandated operations and the balance between preventive restraint and business continuity.
