Abstract: This chapter comments on Article 16 of the Sixth Anti-Money Laundering Directive (EU) 2024/1640, establishing centralised mechanisms for bank and payment-account information. It covers searchable data fields, FIU and supervisory access, implementing acts on formats, interconnection via BARIS, accuracy and retention, security measures, and immediate, unfiltered access for FIUs and Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA) through BARIS.
