Abstract: This chapter comments on Article 6 of the Sixth Anti-Money Laundering Directive (EU) 2024/1640, which requires verification of the honesty, integrity, and reputability of senior management and beneficial owners in designated obliged entities. It covers fit-and-proper checks, ongoing monitoring, possible removal from positions, access to relevant information, legal recourse, and Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA) guidance. The commentary emphasises procedural fairness and effective supervisory follow-up.
