Conclusion to Disability in a Turbulent Era

Harriet Cameron, Patty Douglas and Katherine Runswick-Cole

A chapter in Disability in a Turbulent Era, 2026, pp 254-258 from Edward Elgar Publishing

Abstract: In this concluding chapter, we pull together the threads that run though the book which we describe as: (1) Violent storms; (2) Calm in the eye of the storm; (3) Hopeful little eddies; and (4) Waves of change. Readers are invited to allow time and space to feel alongside us, whatever those feelings are and to pause between moments of rest and tumult. As the ideas in this book surface, we invite you to sit with them, learn with them and pull on them in turbulent times.
