Abstract:
“Protocol No. 1, Article 1: Protection of property” concerns case-law concerning Article 1 of Protocol No. 1, guaranteeing the right of property. It clarifies the meaning of “possessions” within the meaning of that Article. It further discusses the various types and conditions for interferences with the right to property and compensation. The chapter further covers jurisprudence relating to the control of the use of property and the peaceful enjoyment of property.
