Abstract: “Limitation clause”. The final chapter includes key case-law excerpts relating to the standard approach when adjudicating applications brought under Articles 8–11. An interference with the Convention rights will constitute a breach of that Article, unless it is “prescribed by law”, pursues one or more legitimate aims under paragraph (2) of that Article and is “necessary in a democratic society” for the achievement of the aim or aims in question.
