Abstract:
Digital technologies have transformed the rearing of animals; but benefits come hand in hand with cybersecurity risks, particularly for developing countries like Bangladesh. This study investigates the vulnerability of cybersecurity in intelligent livestock farming using a system dynamics approach from a Bangladeshi perspective to identify the complex relationship between technological developments, security hazards, and resilience remedies in smart livestock farming through a literature and case study examination. This study also uses system dynamics models in order to simulate and analyze cybersecurity policies and interventions, integrate cybersecurity into system design and decision-making, and create collaborative systems for information sharing and capacity building. It also points out the lack of understanding of cybersecurity among farmers and other stakeholders, inadequacy in data transfer infrastructure, and cyber-physical attacks on IoT-enabled livestock monitoring devices as major challenges. It emphasizes the proactive building of resilience to alleviate the issues and ensure security and stability in smart livestock farming enterprises. These solutions will decrease cybersecurity risks and enhance digital agriculture systems’ innovation, sustainability, and resilience.
