Mantzavinos's theory of explanatory games

Jonas G. Lipski ()

Chapter 1 in Evaluating Competing Explanatory Games in Economics, 2025, pp 9-36 from Edward Elgar Publishing

Abstract: I introduce Mantzavinos's theory of explanatory games. I explain in detail how its descriptive components follow from a more general theory of institutions. I further introduce its normative components. I explain the general principles behind the normative components by outlining Hans Albert's general philosophical position, especially the principle of critical examination.
