Video displays, haptics, and interfaces

Eli Noam

Chapter 5 in Video 2040, 2026, pp 83-115 from Edward Elgar Publishing

Abstract: This chapter explores the future of video displays, including flat screens, VR goggles, holography, projectors, and more. While the industry has strived for standardization, competition and innovation will drive divergence in display technologies. The chapter also touches on emerging trends for displays, including immersive video, 360-degree video, and new machine–human interfaces. The future of video displays will be characterized by increased interactivity and greater symbiosis between humans and machines.
