Real-time rendering

Eli Noam

Chapter 7 in Video 2040, 2026, pp 142-155 from Edward Elgar Publishing

Abstract: This chapter explores the potential of real-time rendering (RTR) in video production, facilitating the creation of high-quality, interactive, and immersive content. Real-time rendering enables dynamic video editing, real-time individualization, and photo-realistic environments, revolutionizing how content is produced and consumed. The chapter traces the history of animation and highlights significant technical and economic constraints associated with RTR, including the need for very high computational speeds and substantial processing power. Generating high-quality video in real-time also requires significant energy; however, ways to reduce these requirements. Natural language processing is natural language processing. Major RTR firms are listed in the appendix.
