Abstract: David A. Hensher is Professor of Management and Founding Director of the Institute of Transport and Logistics Studies (ITLS) in The Business School at The University of Sydney in Australia. In this chapter, David responds to a number of research-related questions, grouped under a total of 11 themes: (1) motivation; (2) research ideas and execution; (3) collaboration; (4) funding; (5) supervision; (6) publication; (7) reviewing and editing; (8) conferences and seminars; (9) communication and research impact; (10) time management; and (11) reflections and the future of transport research. Among other aspects, David reflects on the paper writing process, positive experiences in collaborating with other researchers, and the importance of good time management skills.
