Abstract:
Professor Chandra R. Bhat is the Joe J. King Chair in Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin in the United States. In this chapter, Chandra responds to a number of research-related questions, grouped under a total of 11 themes: (1) motivation; (2) research ideas and execution; (3) collaboration; (4) funding; (5) supervision; (6) publication; (7) reviewing and editing; (8) conferences and seminars; (9) communication and research impact; (10) time management; and (11) reflections and the future of transport research. Among other aspects, Chandra reflects on his passion for understanding human behaviour in transport settings, being intentional about research collaborations, and his commitment to high-quality research.
