Chapter 6 in Reforming EU Public Procurement, 2026, pp 69-83 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
The exclusion criteria in public procurement are essential tools for maintaining integrity, fairness, and transparency in the allocation of public contracts. Despite significant strides made with the adoption of Directive 2014/24/EU, there remains a pressing need for further reforms to address emerging challenges and inconsistencies. This scholarly chapter explores the future directions and necessary reforms of exclusion criteria to enhance the effectiveness and uniformity of public procurement practices within the EU.
