European Journal of Aquatic Sciences, 2023, vol. 2, issue 1, 1-5

Abstract: The Ichthyological Index of Wetlands (IIW), for the monitoring of the water quality of Ehuikro Lake in Bongouanou, was established. Monthly, experimental gillnet fisheries were conducted between July 2017 and June 2018 in Lake Ehuikro (Bongouanou, Ivory Coast). The fish collected were identified and counted each month, as well as the physicochemical parameters measured in-situ. A partial canonical correspondence analysis (pCCA) was used to order fish species along the axes according to physicochemical parameters to explain anthropogenic disturbances. It appears from this analysis that the water of Lake Ehuikro is of "good quality" during the rainy season and of "poor quality" during the dry season.
