Gürcan Koçan

No 2, EUROSPHERE Working Paper Series (EWP) from Eurospheres project

Abstract: "Public sphere is the product of meaningful interaction and the actions of individuals. It is socially constructed horizon of meaning and actions and forming the way which define and determine interaction in relation to a specific realm of society. It is fluid because it changes continually in time and space. Therefore, public sphere is not apparent enough as a model or concept, every meaningful sphere of communicative interaction participates in range of spheres multidimensional way; spheres are not mutually exclusive, mutually independent realms, but are revealed in social and political relations and association of genuine, complex, area of meaningful interactions. Thus the public sphere is actively constructed realm through aspects, or modes of interactions and action of individuals and political and social relations between them.
