Who Supports Redistribution? (in Japanese)

Fumio Ohtake and Jun Tomioka

Economic Analysis, 2003, vol. 171, 5-25

Abstract: Using an original dataset, we investigated the determinants of individual preferences over income redistribution in Japan. Even after controlling for income, risk-averse individuals and those who expect to be unemployed in the future show a strong tendency to support greater redistribution. Interaction of aging and mobility seems strong and important.
