Abstract: This paper sets out the water and food security challenges in Least Development Countries (LDCs) and developing countries. The document explores the rainfed-irrigation nexus in different regions of the world, looks at the technology’s role and suggests some action actions that can be undertaken to improve water and food security and alleviate poverty.
