Abstract: The Working Group was constituted to review the existing regulatory and supervisory framework of non-banking finance companies (NBFCs) with special focus on the risks in the sector. The approach adopted by the Working Group was to review the existing regulatory and supervisory framework, the historical background and circumstances under which the framework was put in place, the global experiences and best practices for banks and non-banks in order to arrive at recommendations for the regulation and oversight of the sector. The had intensive discussions with all the stakeholders from the industry, including industry bodies and financial regulators concerned.
