Health Policy Changes and Their Impact on Equity in Health Financing in India

Abstract: This study examines the impact of health policy changes on equity of financing among households by using four successive rounds of national sample survey (NSS) data on consumer expenditure in India. This study concludes that the health policy changes made by the Government of India, especially 2005 onwards, has had a positive impact on equity in out-of-pocket payment and income inequality.
