Abstract: The National Health Policy framed from time to time provides the framework for the implementation of policies and programmes for health care. The Eleventh Five Year Plan had focused on the poor and the underprivileged. Accessible, equitable and affordable health care was a priority concern and therefore emphasis was accorded to reducing disparities in health across regions and communities by ensuring access to affordable health.
