Abstract:
Public Accounts Committee (2014-15) present this Eighth report (Sixteenth Lok Sabha) on water pollution in India based on C&AG Report No. 21 of 2011-12, Union Government for the year ended March 2012 related to the Ministry of Environment and Forest. While water pollution and contamination weakens or destroys natural eco-system that supports human health, food production and bio-diversity, polluted water can lead to serious problems with diseases and death of humans, animals, plant and vegetation.
