Abstract:
This study, based on a survey of Japanese firms, presents an overview of the characteristics of firms that have used policy measures to mitigate negative impacts from the Covid-19 pandemic, with an emphasis on their productivity. According to the results, many firms are using financial support programs, employment adjustment subsidies, and sustainability benefits. The productivity of firms using these support measures tended to be lower than that of non-user firms before the Covid-19 pandemic, suggesting that low productivity firms are seriously affected by the crisis.
