Abstract: Furan is five membered O atom heterocyclic organic compound. Furan has important applications in agriculture industry, Medicinal industry, Polymer industry, Cosmetics industry, Pharmaceutical industry. Useful applications of furan and its derivatives gives importance to furan. Furan synthesized on large scale in industry, new methods of synthesis of furan and its derivative are developed and applied it on large scale. This review gives some synthesis methods of furan and its derivatives with its applications.
