Rotavirus Vaccination in India: A Statistical Analysis

Abstract:
Rotavirus is a leading cause of severe diarrhea among infants and young children, contributing significantly to childhood mortality in India. The introduction of the rotavirus vaccine into the Universal Immunization Program (UIP) in 2016 marked a critical step in reducing this burden. This research paper provides a comprehensive statistical analysis of rotavirus vaccination coverage in India from 2019 to 2022. Using data from the Health Management Information System (HMIS), the study evaluates vaccination trends across states and union territories (UTs), identifies variations in coverage, and examines statistical measures including mean, median, correlation, and ANOVA tests. The findings indicate significant regional disparities in vaccination coverage, highlighting the need for targeted interventions to enhance vaccine accessibility and completion rates.
