Effectiveness of Guided Imagery on Job Stress among Staff Nurses: A Quasi-Experimental Study

Abstract: Introduction: Guided Imagery is a Relaxation Technique that involves visualization to promote calmness and reduce stress. It is increasingly used in healthcare to support mental well-being. Nurses, being at the forefront of patient care, often experience high Job Stress affecting their performance and health. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of Guided Imagery in reducing Job Stress among the staff nurses in selected hospitals. Methodology: A Quantitative, Quasi-Experimental Non-Randomized Control group design was adopted. The study was conducted on 66 staff nurses (33 in Experimental and 33 in Control groups) selected through Non-Probability Purposive sampling. Stress levels were assessed using the Modified Expanded Nurses Stress Scale (Modified ENSS). Results: Most participants were aged 31–40 years and married.
