Physicochemical analysis of Mallannasagar Reservoir of Siddipet District, Telangana state, India

Abstract: The Present research study, Monthly variations in Physico-chemical parameters of Mallannasagar reservoir were investigated across four stations. Maximum Total Solids and Total Dissolved Solids occurred in monsoon, minimum in winter, attributed to runoff. Phosphates were higher in winter, and lower in monsoon due to plankton uptake. Sulfates peaked in summer, likely from evaporation and agricultural runoff. Nitrates and Nitrites were highest in monsoon, indicating runoff from fertilizers and waste. Silicates were lowest in winter, and highest in summer, impacting diatom populations. Despite these fluctuations, parameters were within WHO and BSI limits, suggesting suitability for various uses, but continuous monitoring is recommended.
