Abstract:
In today’s fast-growing world, supermarket face challenges such as long queues at billing counters, time consuming barcode scanning, and customer inconvenience. To overcome these problems, this paper presents a Smart Shopping Trolley with Auto Follow, Real-Time Scanning, and Billing. The proposed system combines IoT- based technologies including RFID module, barcode scanner, power supply unit, and touchscreen display. Each product in the trolley is detected through RFID or barcode tags, and its details such as name, price, and quantity are displayed instantly on the screen. The auto- follow mechanism, controlled by ultrasonic sensors, allows the trolley to move automatically with the user. The final bill is calculated and transmitted through wireless communication to the central billing counter or Android application, reducing human effort and waiting time. This smart system enhances shopping efficiency, reduces queue congestion, and provides a modern, user-friendly shopping experience.
