Abstract: This study investigates the anti-angiogenic activity of curcumin, a natural polyphenolic compound derived from turmeric, which has garnered significant attention for its broad therapeutic potential. The purpose of this research was to evaluate curcumin's ability to inhibit angiogenesis through in-ovo assay the ‘Yolk Sac Membrane’ (YSM) assay. The method involved treating endothelial embryonic membranes with different concentrations of curcumin and assessing the impact on angiogenesis markers such as the nodes, junctions and segments of the endothelial embryonic membranes. Key results indicated that curcumin significantly inhibited angiogenesis, evidenced by a reduction in the number of nodes, junctions and segments in the YSM assay. These findings underscore curcumin's potential as a potent anti-angiogenic agent, offering promising therapeutic applications, particularly in the context of angiogenesis mediated diseases.
