Contribution of the Framework Programmes (FP7 and H2020) to the knowledge base of recent IPCC reports based on openly available data

Abstract: This paper presents preliminary outcomes of an on-going analysis on the extent to which EU-funded research, through the Framework Programmes (FP), has contributed to the evidence base of the reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). It demonstrates that the European Union Framework Programme for R&I ranks second after the National Science Foundation of the United States in supporting the research referenced in the IPCC reports.
