Abstract: Questo saggio delinea un profile di Daniel de Leon, figura fra le pi? carismatiche e discusse fra i leaders del socialismo Americano. Si approfondisce il suo contributo al pensiero marxista e radicale negli Stati Uniti fra la fine del 19? secolo e l?inizio del 20? secolo. In particolare questo saggio analizza lo sviluppo della teoria del sindacato di De Leon e descrive come egli abbia cercato di realizzarla attraverso la partecipazione al processo costitutivo della "Industrial Workers of the World" (I.W.W). Inoltre si analizzano le ragioni che successivamente lo hanno indotto a rompere i rapporti con la stessa organizzazione sindacale.
