Abstract: The article presents an analysis of questioning (with the use of a number of ethnopsychological methods) of 89 randomly selected Khabarovsk residents of Russian nationality. There have been obtained factors of importance relating to their ethnicity, of ethnic identity valence, auto- and hetero-stereotypes, ethnic tolerance. Their ideas have been revealed as to peculiarities of interethnic relations in Khabarovsk Territory. The complex analysis of these data has revealed Chinese migration’ impact on the psychological state of Russians, attitude of Khabarovsk local population to entrant Chinese, Russians’ ideas of the immigrants and the character of existing interethnic relations. Despite the negative view on Chinese immigrants’ activities in the Russian Far East, the respondents, being aware of economic mutual advantage, have quite a loyal attitude to them and are willing to put up with their presence in the territory. The low level of ethnic tension in the city is also due to a fairly detached residence of the immigrants and restriction of intercultural contacts to the relationship «seller – buyer» in the market
