A comparison of China's socio-economic development during 2001-2003 is made, after its entry into the WTO, with the forecasts made before the entry by the following indicators: volume and structure of foreign trade, volume and structure of foreign investments in China's economy and volume of Chinese investments abroad, the condition of individual economic branches, well-being of the population, unemployment. Economic indicators of individual provinces are considered
