Abstract:
The process of Republic of Korea’s export structure transformation in 1990 and 2000 is studied. Changes in significance of basic export items and export markets are analyzed. Indices of trade complementarity of each trading partner, as well as indices of intra-branch trade are studied. The article is based on the assertion that the volume of trade between two countries is determined by economic, industrial and political factors such as size of the economy, state of the art, geographic proximity, etc., and looks at these factors’ influence on the Republic of Korea’s export
