Abstract: Description is given of a methodical approach to evaluating the competitiveness of gas in different consumer groups based on identical price of the final product obtained when using different fuels, taking into account the consumer’s effect. Quantitative estimates are given of possible excess of gas prices over coal in the territory of Eastern Siberia and the Far East, which would maintain the efficiency of its utilization by consumers. Their difference is shown by regions, consumer groups, along with the changes over time
