Abstract:
The central objective of this study is to measure the effects of social returns to vocational education on labour income in Brazil, using data from the National Household Sample Survey (PNAD) for the year 2007. Through the estimation of extended mincerian equations for men aged 18 to 65 with positive main labour income, statistically significant positive social returns were found for all specifications. However, the most educated were those who benefited most from the concentration of individuals with professional qualifications.
