Gunter Schumacher

No 1001, Cahiers du CEREFIGE from CEREFIGE (Centre Europeen de Recherche en Economie Financiere et Gestion des Entreprises), Universite de Lorraine

Abstract: This preliminary epistemological examination is done step by step. In a first one the subject of research is outlined. On the base of this sketch follows the discussion concerning the methodological choice between applied moral philosophy and applied social science. Considering the fact of inevitable normative elements linked to the nature of the research subject, and abiding by the preference given to an empiric approach which finds an easier reception in the world of management, the author chooses his empiric-normative approach. This approach foresees at the beginning of any study the explicit presentation of the fundamental values which forms the base of the scientific analyses. This explicit presentation is done in the final of this preliminary epistemological examination.
