The progressive frame of local press in the Republic of Moldova

Abstract: The history of print media is, primarily, the history of freedom of conscience. The evolution of conscience freedom in the late ‘80s early ‘90s of the last century has catalyzed the substantial development of newspapers and magazines in Moldova. The development of progressive research of the Moldovian news media institutions highlights very rapid and dramatic the changes occurring in the post-totalitarian. The field of communication in Moldova was marked by monopoly dispersing of a single party, by the affirming of pluralism views, asserting of market economy laws and by the appearing of private sector, etc. The periodical publications of that time expressed the need for liberation, solidarity, and became a tool and a combative stand against the old regime of spreading and implementing new democratic standards. In this context, the local press, which is a set of information that the various publications and thematic coverage captures readers’ attention and became a mouthpiece of citizen interest in geographical proximity (urban, rural, regional) was not an exception.
