Abstract:
This article aims to analyze the structure of the Romanian Academic Society’s (Romanian Academy) image and to find out to what extent the image released by “Convorbiri Literare“ (Literary Conversations) review, during 1867-1877, highlights the role of this institution in the development of sciences and arts. The studies have been conducted so far introduced in the scientific field a great amount of data and information related to the Romanian Academy. Nevertheless, until now, this issue has not been studied from an imagological perspective. The present paper aims to reduce this informational gap. The research hypotheses I would like to validate are: H1 - The image of the Romanian Academic Society (Romanian Academy), released by “Convorbiri Literare” review during 1867-1877, is strongly positive; H2 - The image of the Romanian Academic Society (Romanian Academy) is focused on the efficiency of this institution and the internal scientific activity. The research method I used in this article was developed and introduced in Romania by Associate Professor Ph.D. Bogdan-Alexandru Halic and Associate Professor Ph.D. Ion Chiciudean. It represents an improved version of content analysis which, in addition, gives the possibility to express both positive and negative components of the image. Moreover, this research method uses a scheme of categories (the system of image indicators) that allows a comparative analysis on the image profiles. The sample includes all the articles related to the Romanian Academy, published in ”Convorbiri Literare“ review during 1867-1877.
